ABOUT DRAGONFLY RANCH

Since 2001 I have been working in the diverse field of education. A guiding principle for my work with students is to create a comfortable, purposeful outdoor learning environment. Learners can be engaged in direct experiences and focused reflection times in order to; increase knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values. I have a seasoned background in community leadership, experiential education, and as an early childhood education teacher. Originally teaching initiative-based learning, canoeing, working as an equestrian trail guide, backpacking, trust sequencing, gardening, and ropes courses - was how I developed an appreciation for learning modalities that are able to meet challenges where they start.

My wife and I purchased Dragonfly Ranch, enamored by the organic farming community and beauty of the Capay Valley. Only 1.5 hours from the Bay Area, our ranch is a 5-acre property nestled between almond and fruit orchards in Esparto, CA. We love the outdoors but also like a low hassle camping experience. To that end, we have created a camping experience that aims to be approachable, friendly and hassle free.

We cater to all levels of campers. We are united by the desire to get away, rejuvenate, and enjoy what nature has to offer. In the last 6.5 years my wife and I have been working full time on renovating Dragonfly Ranch. At the heart of Dragonfly Ranch is the ability to provide learning experiences. We offer a variety of guided activities onsite to encourage connections to nature and our adorable ranch animals. The soul of Dragonfly Ranch is our commitment to provide equal experiences for those who may not be welcome at more mainstream retreat locations or recreational classes.

See you at Dragonfly!
